Year 4 – Kestrel Class

Your Class Teacher is Mr Davies. Mrs Dutta teaches our class every Friday.

For this half term , In English, we are going to be focussing on our Literacy texts, ‘Blue John’ by Berlie Doherty with the outcome of writing a letter.

In History, we will be continuing to look at the Anglo-Saxons invasion of Britain and the changes that they made.

In Maths, we will be continuing our focus on multiplication whilst also developing our knowledge on money and time.

Mrs Dutta will be teaching subjects from the wider curriculum.

There will be lots to look forward to during this half term!

Expectations

P.E will be taught every Tuesday and  Wednesday this half term.

PE kits consist of a white top, black bottoms with either pumps or trainers. Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack into school for break time. Can you please bring a water bottle in for your child so they can stay hydrated throughout the day with their name on.

• Read, read and read some more! This will really help your child’s development across all areas of the curriculum. Please ‘strive for 5’ times a week. Please sign their reading diaries accordingly and have them in every day.
• TT Rockstars is also encouraged, particularly to support your child in successfully achieving in the Year 4 Multiplication Check Assessment, in the Summer term.
• Spelling Frame is also encouraged to support your child in making progress across the curriculum.
